Perhaps we all should consider this simple idea to increase our garden size and to use otherwise wasted items.

Jen - this is awesome!!! ever since i saw your post (sometime last year) about your milk jugs as mini-greenhouses - we have been saving our pop bottles as "cloches" and they really work!!!
and now since i discovered the toilet paper roll seed starters PLUS this idea AND the cloches - woohoo - i am going to have a rocking garden of herbs and salads growing in my solarium IN Canada in February --- woohooo for me!
thanks so much for sharing this!
How cool are those! I have gathered up all out soda bottles and ratholed them for spring!

Very cool! I'll have to find folks that actually use those kinds of bottles, though!
HW, I've been collecting our milk gallons to use as greenhouses for my tomatoes. Those wall-o-waters are just too expensive. Have you used your jugs this way? Can you give me the link to where you wrote about your experiences?
Kymber, I'm waiting to see your posts on the tp rolls!
Gen-I will work on it today to put up a post on how I have used milk gallons...they are so wonderful and I have used the same ones for years.
