How I Beat Spam on my Farm Blog

I had terrible problems with Spam on my farm blog, until I did a few things.
I removed all anonymous comments.
I required typing in the word verification code.

I have not had any more spam in the past three weeks.

Life is grand again!

Sometimes I think those word verification codes are too hard to read, but I'm beginning to think I'd prefer that over all the spam. So we might do it at APN too, plus it's a ton of work to moderate all the comments. Besides, I think the word verification codes are common enough that people accept it and understand the need.

Yes Tom, I agree, and to be honest I was considering closing my blog as I was overwhelmed with so much spam.

But now with simple verification all is good.

Sci- lol, well not to disappoint, take your block of spam, a can of pineapples and some cloves. Poke the cloves in the spam, then pour the pineapple juice on the spam and some rings on the spam... bake about 10-20 minutes at 350...

serve up!
